Sweat + Skin: Taking Care of Your Skin with Cetaphil + Giveaway

All my life, I struggled with acne. Having experienced it in my adolescence, pregnancy and then again in adulthood, I have learned early that healthy skin is a part of taking care of your body, like movement and healthful nutrition. And since my skin is prone to blemishes, it is especially important to cleanse and protect it. Given that I am a sweaty mess on a regular basis (I love my job!), this is particularly crucial to keep those breakouts at bay.

I have tried many different brands designed to cleanse but one cleanser I have used since I was a tween (many, many eons ago) is the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser for sensitive skin. It has been recommended by dermatologists for 65 years and has won numerous awards, such as the Chatelaine Beauty 100. It is fragrance-free, oil-free, gentle and does a phenomenal job at removing make up. It also doesn’t need to be rinsed off so it’s great for those late nights (hello, 20!).

Clearly, I’m a fan – so, I was pretty excited when they sent a few of their products for me to try out recently.

OILY SKIN CLEANSER for acne prone skin

Perfect cleanser for sweaty skin. Its mild foaming action will get deep into skin so it feels clean but not right or dried out. It did not irritate my skin. My skin isn’t oily enough to use this cleanser on a daily basis; however, I found it works really well after a sweaty workout or on days I wear make up. It’s also an effective cleanser for the more sensitive parts of the body like the chest or back. It does not contain the same harsh ingredients as body soap so it is much more gentler.

DAILY FACIAL MOISTURIZER with SPF

I am a huge advocate of sun protection – I do not leave the house without slapping on some sort of SPF. Unfortunately, finding the perfect formulation for my skin that also has a texture that I like has been quite the challenge. I still continue to switch between brands depending on how my skin is feeling, the weather and if I’ll be working out or just hanging out.

This one is light, moisturizing and has a broad spectrum protection of SPF 15. I love the non-sticky feel and light texture of this – it’s perfect to go under make-up! I usually prefer a higher SPF, but since my tinted moisturizer also contains an SPF of 30, I can layer both of them, giving me the added insurance that my skin is protected from harmful rays. If I am working out outside, I would definitely select their SPF 50.

DailyAdvanceĀ® ULTRA HYDRATING LOTION with shea butter

When we first received this, Liv asked to try it. She has never been a fan of body lotion (her skin tends to get dry patches, similar to eczema) so I was quite surprised. She slathered it on her arms first. I reminded her to get coverage on the inside of her elbows. Then she moved on to her legs. She was actually enjoying this! In the past, she would complain of stickiness or stinging with other body lotions. No issues with Cetaphil. I love that it is fragrance free. Research has shown that fragrances, both artificial and natural, can cause irritation and damage the skin. I feel good knowing that Cetaphil is nourishing on her sensitive skin.

K is also a fan!

      1. I love Cetaphil, it is so great for sensitive skin and I was in real bad shape when I was introduced to Cetaphil. I was breaking out with my allergies and Cetaphil fixed my skin up in only a few days. Thank you for making this wonderful product!!
