7 Places To Spend New Year’s Eve With Kids in Vancouver

Just because you have kids doesn’t mean NYE celebrations have to come to a halt. The hubs and I never stopped celebrating New Years. Either it be a casual night out with some friends with kids or a house party – small and big – we are always up for a fun get together with friends. Heck, even the kids prefer to hang out with their friends than to stare at our faces all night! Check out these 7 family friendly places to ring in 2018!

  1. Rocky Mountain Flatbread. Rocky Mountain Flatbread is hosting a New Year’s Eve Pizza Party for families with the kids in mind.  Enjoy a relaxing evening where children are entertained with pizza making, balloon twisting, and face painting while you enjoy your dinner and drinks. An early New Year’s Eve countdown will top off the evening! Tickets: $20 + $25. Available hereTwo locations: Kitsilano and Main St.
  2. Family First With Mt Seymour. Complimentary s’mores, early countdown, snow tubing, magician, clown and fire routine along with a variety of food vendors. Tickets are $25. Available here.
  3. Skating. Various communities are hosting a family skate for as low as $2 per person. Times may vary. Includes ice rinks in Burnaby, Robson Square, Surrey, North Vancouver, White Rock, Port Coquitlam, Chilliwack.
  4. Vancouver Cabaret New Year’s Eve Variety Show. Performances from musicians, circus acrobats, magicians and comedians. There is also a balloon drop and early countdown. 90 minutes long with one intermission. Tickets range from $20-45. Vancouver.
  5. Lights at Lafarge. Take a NYE stroll through the largest interactive and beautiful light display in Coquitlam. It’s a fun way to get the Littles’ energy out and warm up with a little *adult* hot cocoa. It’s right in my neighbourhood and best of all, it’s FREE. Coquitlam.
  6. Castle Fun Park. Along with all the usual fun attractions like go karts, bumper cars, lazer maze, they will also have an early balloon drop, hot chocolate, popcorn and door prizes. Abbotsford.
  7. Party At Home! We got snowed in last New Year’s and could not make our plans (neither could our neighbours!). We had an impromptu wine night while kids played and watched a movie! It was perfect way to welcome in the new year. So invite your friends, family and neighbours over and let the kids run amuck until they all pass out on top of one another. Purchase a few noise makers, a well stocked booze cart and you’re golden.

      1. I’d love to visit them all with my daughter! But, for now, I’d settle for Castle Fun Park then at Lafarge in Coquitlam. I’m setting a date with my daughter. It’s her 9th birthday this coming Sunday, Jan 7th.
