I like shopping small shops. Over the years, I have seen friends go from full time work to being a stay at home mom. Being a mom is so special but it doesn’t always give us the creative outlet that some of us crave. Creating a small shop is a wonderful way to get that. Being a small shop supporter, I have also connected with a few amazingly talented artists behind these shops. And though it doesn’t happen as often as I would like, shopping local can mean a lot for them. It could mean:
- supporting a local mom, her family and creativity
- supporting the local economy
- high quality products and services made with love and care
- personalized items
- unique, one-of-a-kind items that are perfect for gifts

When I’m looking for gifts, I like to look to local shops first. Mother’s Day is a great occasion to shop locally! You can either go for the traditional flowers from a local florist or personalize it a little more with a unique gift from a local small shop.
