My Current Make Up & Skincare and Sephora Welcome Back Sale

LET’S CHAT SKINCARE

Here’s what’s in my everyday skincare routine. Skincare is important to me because I suffer from acne breakouts often! I’m 38 and it’s still happening. I’m hoping for the day that I no longer get them, lol. So I can be pretty picky about what I put on my face. The products below have worked well at managing them and have made a noticeable difference in my skin.

ALSO – see my hack for getting rid of the white cast from sunscreen below!

DAYTIME

I start off with a BHA from Paula’s Choice. It’s not available at Sephora but I’ll link it here. It exfoliates and keeps pores clear to prevent breakouts. I’ve been using this for years and it helps so much.

Next, I use the B Hydra Serum from Drunk Elephant. It is like instant hydration that my skin just soaks up. When I ran out, I didn’t repurchase and I noticed a huge difference in how dehydrated my skin was. I’m on my 4th bottle and I like to grab a couple bottles during sales.

Then I apply this eye serum.

I moisturize with either of these. The Lala Retro for my drier areas and Protini from normal areas.

I finish by pressing a facial oil into my skin. These two are my favourite.

Then I apply my sunscreen. I do not go out with out. I dot one 1-2 drops of D-Bronzi Anti Pollution Drops all over my face and then a good amount of sunscreen on top. This eliminates the white cast that sunscreen often has.

EVENING

I incorporate this TLC Night Serum from Drunk Elephant every other night or every 3 days. Helps keep pores clear and slough off dead skin cells to prevent acne.

About 1-2x/wk I will use a retinol. My favourite retinol is this one. I find retinol helps with acne and post acne marks.

My favourite cleansers are these ones. I alternate depending on how dry or oily or the amount of make up I’m wearing that day.

MAKE UP

I don’t wear much make up or any at all! (life of someone who works in a gym, haha!) But when I do, I choose cleaner brands without silicones or irritating ingredients, like fragrance.

After my SPF, I start my make up routine.
I’ve been wearing Bare Minerals Complexion gel for YEARS. I stock up on this every time there is a sale. It has a physical SPF of 30 and it spreads and blends really easily. It is a light to medium coverage. This is my go-to.

I like this one from IT Cosmetics if I’m looking for more coverage. I prefer the luminous one as the original is too matte for me. I mix this with a drop of Tarte Maracuja Oil or Drunk Elephant Marula Oil for a little extra moisturizing.

Cleanest concealer I’ve found and liked!

I’ve been using this blush for YEARS. Everytime I try a new one, I go back to this one. It’s called PAAARTY.

This is my favourite highlighter. It’s the prettiest champagne shade called CHAMPAGNE POP.

This eye brightener is amazing at brightening the under eye and covering up dark circles.

Love love this lip quench from Tarte. Seriously. LOVE. You don’t need a mirror to apply and it gives a nice flush of colour. I have one in my car, bag, jacket pocket.

I don’t wear lipstick often but this is a pretty pink nude colour. Got this as a birthday gift from Sephora one year and fell in love with it.

HAIR

Love the results of Olaplex. My stylist gave me an Olaplex treatment and I just use No. 3 at home as maintenance.

These two dry shampoos are my favourite. I use them when I’m travelling or if I’m running from client to client and I don’t have time to wash my hair.
